It's Just Me

Is it just me or does anyone else hate "that girl" in your math class? I'm in school and classes started last night. And there she was, with her text book covered in a brown paper bag like we were in middle school, in the very front row: That Girl. And no, I don't mean Marlo Thomas because that would be super cool, I mean the girl who asks a million questions (most of which are stupid) and treats the teacher like he is an idiot when he can't dumb down college math far enough for her. "Um, can you explain why you subtracted 3 from both sides of the equal sign (you mean both sides of the equation, right?)?""Because you have to do the same thing to both sides to get x by itself""Oh ok. Why?" BECAUSE THIS IS A COLLEGE FREAKING MATH CLASS!! If you don't know this shit already you should be in remedial math, not a math class for business majors.  This is the girl who is 10 minutes early to class every day, and stays 10 minutes late, and asks questions about every stinking homework question. She even asked why our homework didn't count towards our grade. Uh, don't ask crazy lady just go with it! This is going to be a painful semester.

Is it just me or is anyone else addicted to tea? My stepmother-in-law (Charming Husband's totally awesome super cool stepmom) introduced me to the store Teavana, and they have this neat little contraption for brewing loose tea, and I just can't get enough! It is so cool in fact that Charming Husband even thinks it is cool. Unfortunately he doesn't like tea, and I think he really wishes that he did, because he will even make my tea for me just so he gets to use the neat little contraption. I'll have to find a tea that is manly enough for him to try but still yummy enough for him to enjoy.

Is it just me or is anyone else sick and freakin' tired of politics? Seriously. Why do I care that a state 43000 miles away from me voted for a republican for the 1st time in 40 years? And call me crazy, but to all the people who are all up in arms about it and just can't believe what this world is coming to, doesn't this kind of prove that maybe more people disagree with you than you thought? Sorry, but the majority rules. If Mass. voted for republican it's because that's who they prefer. There is no conspiracy, it isn't anti-democracy, it is plainly and simply who they chose. Get over it. The great thing about this country is that even though the dems lost seat 60 er whatever, they have the chance to win it back some other year. Or not, depending on what the people want. Everyone is acting like this is the end all be all and the world will now spontaneously combust.  You know, if pot were legal people would get along better. Just sayin'.

Is it just me or is anyone else a little worried that maybe the world IS going to end in 2012? With this 2nd earthquake in Haiti (which by the way, the news really needs to stop calling it an aftershock. 6.1 is not an aftershock, that's another freaking quake! The Northridge LA earthquake in the early 90's that did a crap ton of damage was a 6.2. Not an aftershock! But I digress) where was I? Right, the 2nd earthquake in Haiti, the Tsunami a few years ago, that whole hurricane season that started with Katrina; all of these add up to a huge death toll which to me says the world might just be ending. I'm really not one to buy into the hype, but you add the natural disasters to the terrorist attacks and the crazed ex-employees shooting up buildings and the bad economic situation and the fact that our own country seems to be completely divided right now, I can't help but feel like we might self destruct. I mean, if the whole world is going, I might as well go too, but I would really like to see my kids grow up and become amazing people so I am hoping I am wrong (and I'm hoping that the Mayans were wrong since this whole world ending in 2012 crap was their idea in the 1st place). Again, if pot was legal....

Totally agree on the earthquake speak. Bet NO ONE that is actually in Haiti reporting on it called it an aftershock.

They just opened a TEAVANA in the mall near us. Might have to check it out!!
