Or at least pretend to be. I realized this morning as I was scrolling through my Facebook updates that a bunch of my friends (and by friends I mean acquaintances that I haven't physically spoken to in almost a decade) always have incredibly depressing status updates. Are you really always that unhappy? Is everything really THAT bad? There are 2 people in particular whose status updates are about to get hidden. I can almost always predict what they are going to say. Work sucks, life sucks, I'm so tired, nobody loves me, blah blah blah. Seriously. Most of us have problems with one of those things on a regular basis. Updating my status every time I was tired it would be a full-time job.
One of these people is either always bitching and complaining about how awful everything is OR she is talking about how super wonderful her baby is (and by baby I mean her boyfriend, and I find it nauseating to read all the schmoopy love updates as well. We get it. You love him. And he loves you just as much even though he hasn't put a ring on it yet. Totally.) These people either need to get a new job that they don't completely hate or get a prescription for Xanax because it seems abnormal to be so down on yourself. All.the.time. It is 60 degrees outside! The sun is shining! Put on some happy music and dance your sorrows away! Or at least keep them to yourselves, 'cause you're killin' my buzz, man.
